This Tribal community (Kandha) people are not isolated in their culture they also, play an important role in World’s Biggest and most Famous Car Festival which is held at Jagannath Dham Puri (Shree Khetra). 

These tribal people all over Odisha support the making of Cars, Ropes, and their accessories by supplying Raw materials from the Jungle to Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Maa Subhadra. 

From the starting time when King’s Empire was rolling a process is there to Pull the cars first by Tribal people then continues with other pilgrimages. 

But nowadays many changes are shown in the Car festival as per time changes. 

There are some specific reasons behind it that why the tribal people are devoted to Pull the cars first if we will discuss it would be a different topic for that we have to go back from the starting of Lord Jagannath how they came to puri and what is the connection of Jara Savar and Lord Jagannath.
